Overwhelmed
Do you ever feel overwhelmed? I have really felt that way lately. I cannot put my finger on exactly what it is. I think it is spiritual warfare to be honest. Each morning I wake up and I just cannot shake the feeling. I really want to crawl back in bed most days and not face the feelings of being overwhelmed. Due to this, things have begun to pile up. My check book does not get balanced as often as it should. My laundry does not get done as fast as it should. The dishes don't get washed as fast as they should. I pray at night that the Lord would help me with these feelings and truly I do feel better, but as the morning arrives, I am back to the overwhelming feeling. Sometimes I wonder if it is the pressure I put on myself. I have been reading a lot of Christian parenting books and wonder just how I am going to be able to do it. I know that the one most important thing as a mother is for me to raise my children in the admonition of the Lord. I want them to want to know Him even more than I do. I want them to have a passion to change the world for Christ. I want them to be on FIRE everyday. And yet, sometimes I worry (why do we worry) that I will not say the right thing at the right time or will miss out on an opportunity to point Elly and Samuel to Christ. As I look at the decisions that I make daily, the words I use daily, the TONE of words I use daily, the actions I use daily...I want all those things to point them to Christ. I want them to see Christ in me. Right now, they are my mission field. This is the biggest responsiblity I have ever had and I so do not want to fail at it. By the Grace of God, and ONLY by the Grace of God, I will be successful.
