Things I want to remember

Samuel calls a phone a "moan."  He is crazy about moans and wants to use them all the time!  Today he was pushing around his lawn mower while holding his moan in his mouth.

Elly loves to pretend to be other people.  Sometimes it is someone she knows from church (Elisabeth or Allyson).  Sometimes it is someone from the family (Chloe or Emma). Sometimes it is someone from television (Melody off a Barney show).  Sometimes it is even "baby" Elly.

Elly has to have everything match.  She told me the other day that she wanted a pink sucker so that it would match what she was wearing.

When Elly was potty training, she would say that she would have to use the "potty train."

Samuel at times will look at you and just say "I Sad."  Usually it is when he is talking about Nana and Papa.  He is crazy about them.

Samuel is very attached to Papa.  Elly LOVES her Nana, but Samuel is CRAZY about Papa.

Elly and Nana have a special bond.  It just makes me love my mom even more.  I love to see them together doing things like painting their nails, running through the sprinkler, etc.  It so warms my heart!

Samuel thinks Elly is pretty cool, but has now, at 17 months, started to push her away when she gets to close to Mommy.

When Tim leaves for work in the morning and he kisses me goodbye, Samuel always has to come to me and kiss me too.  He does not like for us to express affection for each other.

Samuel LOVES cars.  He wants to just sit in the driver's seat of Tim's car anytime he can.  He also likes to just go in the garage and sit on the lawn mower...must be a boy thing!

Elly loves to read and if you stop reading a sentence of a book that we have read MANY times, she can finish the sentence for you!

Elly told me the other day that she wanted me to say her birthday prayer again.  I figured out that was because she was hoping that if we said that prayer that the next day would be her birthday again.  Too cute!

Elly loves to be outside in the pool and the sprinkler.  Samuel on the other hand does not.  He still likes to be outside, but does not want to be wet.

Elly, of all places, chose to go to Arby's to eat for her 3rd birthday.

When Elly saw me crying one day, she said "what is wrong with your eyes, Mommy?"  She does not seem me cry often.

Samuel loves his blanket and his "puppa."  Elly on the other hand loves her baby.  So now whenever I go somewhere, the diaper bag is packed full of those extra things.

Samuel has learned to say "Oh Man" and is so cute when he says that.

Samuel started out calling Elly "dister" (sister), but has just recently started saying something that sounds similar to Elly.

Elly LOVES to fly and LOVES to go to the airport to get Nana and Papa.

Elly calls elevators "heli-coasters."  I guess a combination of a helicopter and a roller coaster!

Every time we go to Walmart Elly has to get a donut.  Mommy is such a sucker!

Samuel is a climber and is into everything.  He got his first knot on his head last Sunday while in Sunday School.  I did not end up taking him to the doctor because it seemed to stop swelling within a couple of hours.  He never even bruised up every badly.  I think it was due to the prayers being lifted up for him.

Elly loves church and the library.  She loves to go to church on Sunday morning and then also on Wednesday nights.  She has choir and missions on Wednesday nights.  Susie Yonkers is her teacher on both Sunday and Wednesday.  She loves Mrs. Susie (as well as all her other teachers).  We go to family storytime at the library and Elly LOVES to sing, dance, and play along with whatever is happening that day during storytime.

Samuel started to sing a few months ago.  Elly did not do that until well after she turned 2.  He is so cute when he will mumble some words and tap his foot.

Samuel is small for his age.  He is almost 18 months old and so I bought him mostly 24 month clothing for this fall/winter.  Unfortunately, none of it fits and even some of the 18 month clothing I have for him is too big.

Elly was potty trained about a week before she turned 3.

More to come...

They both love to go to Target because Mommy always gets them popcorn to eat while we shop.
